D-1 Camp Advisory Council

     In order to set the pace in Indiana Team Camps, the following IHSAA State Championship coaches have agreed to serve as an advisory council to D-1 Girls' Team Camps.
   Jan Connor, Martinsville
   Donna Cheatham, Southwestern
   Tom Megyesi, Lake Central
   Tom May, Crown Point

     Their recommendations which were implemented in 2000-2002 girls' team camps follows:

  1. Print a seperate brochure for girls' camps
  2. Hire speakers with which the girls identify

  3. Improve Officiating
    1. Hire licensed officials
    2. Hire a larger pool of officials (rotate officials)
    3. Hire one person to supervise all officials
  4. Continue to keep D-1 costs low so more girls can afford to attend
  5. Continue to get teams from every area of Indiana and try to recruit teams from other states
  6. Continue to keep camp focused on basketball only, not other things
